Murray named KJCCC D-II Softball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced that Johnson County Community College catcher Maddie Murray has been selected the Division II Softball Player of the Week for week 13. She was one of five players in the conference who were nominated this week. This is her first time being selected.

Murray batted .611 (11-for-18) with a double, six home runs, seven runs scored and 15 RBI last week for the Cavaliers. Recording a trio of five RBI games, Murray has two come on a road doubleheader sweep over Highland. Against the Scotties, she had six hits in seven at bats which included a double, three home runs and 10 driven in. The freshman capped the week off by belting three homers to drove in five runs in a 10-0 win at Allen.

For the season, Murray is batting .421 (48-for-114) with 12 doubles, 14 home runs and 48 RBI.  She has produced 13 multiple-hit games and nine multiple-RBI games. Her 48 RBI rank tied for fourth in the conference and her 14 home runs rank fifth.
