OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team improved to 4-2-0 on the season following a 5-0 shutout at Dodge City on Saturday afternoon. 

The Lady Cavaliers scored once in the first half, then blew the match open with four scores in the second half. JCCC outshot the Conquistadors 27-3. 

In the 40th minute, Riley Porter gave all Johnson County would need with her third goal of the season. Athena Dericotte earned the assist feeding the ball off a corner kick. 

Dericotte made it 2-nil with an unassisted goal in the 46th minute, her first of the season. 

Lexi Dillon and Ashlyn Jones also scored for the first time this year. Dillon scored in the 59th minute on an assist from Samantha Grynkiewicz, and Jones goal came in the 69th minute off a feed from Brock Allen

JCCC's final score came in the 89th minute. Emree Bell lifted a ball to front of the net from a corner kick and Kayla Ambrose headed the ball into the back of the net to notch her second goal of the year.    

Goalkeeper Olivia Ways earned her third shutout victory, stopping the only shot she faced. She is now 4-0-0 on the season and lowered her goals against average to 0.22, which ranks her third in the NJCAA.  She also ranks third in save percentage at .938.

Johnson County will host Butler on Wednesday, September 29 at 7 p.m., and then travel across the state to take on Garden City on Friday, October 1 at 3 p.m.
