JCCC women’s soccer rallies for a 3-1 win over Cowley

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. –  After giving up a goal early in the match, the Johnson County women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals to do down Cowley 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at the JCCC Soccer Complex. 

Sophomore forward Riley Porter played a role in all three scores. She tied the game at 1-1 in the 43rd minute her fourth goal of the season off a feed from freshman midfielder Alandra Bailey.

Porter then was on the giving end on the next two scores, feeding freshman forward Megan Everhart in the 50th and 57th minutes. Everhart upped her team leading goals scored total to eight to go along with six total assists. Porter also upped her season assist total to six on the day. 

Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Seston stopped 10 of the 11 shots she faced to improve her season record to 4-5-0.  Her 10 saves matched her season high. 

Johnson County (6-7-0) travels to El Dorado Saturday, October 8, to face No. 6-ranked Butler (11-2-1) at 6 p.m. The Grizzlies defeated JCCC 3-2 back on September 7 at JCCC.
