JCCC downs Neosho County 4-0 to give Jim Schwab his 350th coaching victory

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College women's soccer team defeated Neosho County Community College by the final score of 4-0 to improve to 8-9-0 on the year and 5-7-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Conference.

This was a milestone win for the Lady Cavaliers as it was the programs and head coach Jim Schwab's 350th victory. The program started in 1999 and has won 12 or more games in 21 of the 24 seasons of existence.

Freshman midfielder Avleen Kang got the scoring going for Johnson County as she found the back of the net for the first time this season in the 23rd minute off an assist from freshman forward Megan Everhart

Nine minutes later sophomore midfielder Carlee Gassman scored unassisted to notch her first career goal and then picked up her first career assist in the 62nd minute feeding sophomore forward Riley Porter to make it 3-nil Lady Cavaliers. For Riley it marked her six score of the season and 20th of her career. 

Sophomore defender Isabella Holloway capped the scoring with her first career goal in the 81st minute off a feed from Everhart, her second of the match and team-leading ninth of the season. 

Freshman goalkeeper Jayla Brazzel saved all five shots she faced to improve to 4-1-0 with her shutout victory on the season. 

Johnson County will close out its regular season Tuesday, October 25 at No. 17 Barton County.
