Carlee Gassman joined the JCCC women’s soccer program after attending the University of Northern Iowa on a track and field scholarship in the fall of 2020 ... Highly skilled and very quick ... Coming off a broken foot ... Expected to be an impact player ... Has the ability to play up front or in the middle portion of the field ... Signed a National Letter of Intent to play at at Ottawa University next year.

Sophomore Year 2022

Played in and started 18 matches in the defensive midfield … Was part of a defensive unit that posted a goals against average of 2.07 and three shutouts, both which ranked seventh in the conference … Helped out offensively with a goal and an assists in a 4-0 victory at Neosho County (10-19-22) … Fired seven shots, three on goal, for a shots-on-goal percentage of .429.

Freshman Year 2021

Played six matches, four as a starter … Was part of JCCC’s defensive pool in the back that allowed only 19 goals, a goals against average of 1.23 with four shutouts.

Freshman Year 2020

Played and started 14 games … Was part of JCCC’s defensive pool that allowed only 24 goals, a goals against average of 1.57 with four shutouts … Fired a shot on goal at Barton in the Region VI playoffs (5-19-21).

High School

Started her freshman season in soccer for coach Messer at Norwalk High School, Norwalk, Iowa … Lettered in basketball, cross country, soccer and track … Helped the soccer team qualify for State … Ran a leg on the 4x400 relay team that placed fourth at State … Attended Louisburg High School, Louisburg, Kan., her sophomore, junior and senior years …  Graduated 2020 … Earned two varsity letters in track and field … Did not have the opportunity to compete her senior year due to the COVID-19 pandemic … As a sophomore broke the school record four different times in the 300-meter hurdles and finished runner-up at the State Championships … Also earned a state medal in the long jump placing fifth with a mark of 17-feet, 0.25-inches … As a junior she captured three more state medals, including a fourth place finish in the 300 hurdles … Was crowned Frontier League champion in the 300 hurdles and helped the 4x400 relay to at third-place finish, and set a school record in the 4x100 as the team took second overall … Also scored points in the long jump with a fifth-place finish, which earned her the Louisburg Sports Zone Week 8 Athlete of the Week …  Was a four-time letter winner in cross country … Raced to a 34^th-place finish at the Kansas 4A State Meet as a junior, and a placed 61^st her senior year … Also earned a varsity letter in basketball her sophomore year ... Played for APEX Soccer Club in 2016 and Rush Soccer Club coached by Dalio Mercaco from 2017-19.
