JCCC’s Martin selected KJCCC D-II Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Freshman defensive specialist/libero Carlie Martin of the Johnson County Community College volleyball team squad was named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Defensive Player of the Week following the teams three victories last week. 

This marks the third consecutive week Martin has received conference honors, and now a Lady Cavaliers player has been recognized in all four weeks of the season. Johnson County is the only program to be represented in every weekly award this season.

Martin had another big week for the second-ranked Lady Cavaliers by recording 58 digs over the three victories for an average of 5.80 digs per set. In a 3-1 win over Des Moines Area CC, Martin established a new season high with 32 digs. Through 13 matches, Martin has topped double figures in digs 12 times. She currently ranks third in the conference with 205 digs on the season.
