JCCC volleyball downs No. 18 NEO A&M to reach District B Championship Match

OVERAND PARK, Kan.- The No. 6-ranked Johnson County Community College volleyball punched its ticket to the Plains District B Championship Match with a hard-fought four-set victory over No 18 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, winning 25-22, 28-26, 24-26, 25-23).

In a match defined by momentum swings, the Cavaliers controlled the opening set,  then stormed back from a 16-11 deficit to claim a dramatic 28-26 win the second set.  NEO A&M responded by edging JCCC 26-24 in the third to stay alive, but the Cavaliers maintained control throughout the fourth, building a 24-18 lead and holding off a late push to close out the match.

Sophomore outside hitter Brooke Boyer delivered her best performance of the seasons, posing season highs of16 kills and 25 digs - her first time match of the year with double-digits kills.

Fellow sophomore hitters Ava Esser and Avery Ringgenberg added 15 and 10 kills respectively, with Ringgenberg also recording a team-high six blocks.

Freshman setter Campbell Chabot orchestrated the attack with 50 assists – her second highest total of the season – while adding 13 digs for her eight double-double. Sophomore libero Carlie Martin anchored the defense with 29digs

Johnson County now heads to Arkansas City to face defending national champion Cowley on Sunday. The winner secures an automatic berth to the 2025 NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
