OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – On the same day the Johnson County baseball team moved into the top-10 of the NJCAA's national rankings, the Cavaliers saw its 18-game win streak come to an end with a 10-6 setback to State Fair Community College.

Johnson County, ranked ninth nationally, outhit the State Fair 16-to-9, but the Cavaliers pitchers issued 11 free passes which led to a pair of big innings for the Roadrunners. They tallied three runs in the top of the first and tacked on four more in the third which proved enough to knock off the nationally ranked Cavaliers.

On the offensive side, six Cavaliers recorded multiple hits in the game. Freshman infielder Brendan Ryan led with three hits, including two doubles.  Freshman outfielder Jake Grauberger, freshman designated hitter Quinton Hall, sophomore third baseman Brady Slavens, freshman shortstop Isaiah Cohens and sophomore outfielder Landen Wood each collected two hits.   Grauberger also drove in two runs and Hall and Slavens each had one RBI.

Freshman outfielder Nick Iannantone also drove in two runs with his team-leading fourth triple this season.

Johnson County has a quick turnaround beginning a four-game conference series with Fort Scott Community College on Wednesday, March 11. All four games will be played at JCCC, two today and two on Friday, March 13, due to poor field conditions at Fort Scott. The Greyhounds will serve as the home team for the first two games.
