Big innings propel Cavaliers to a 19-9 win over Metropolitan

0VERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County baseball team scored five runs in the second, seven in the sixth and five more in the seventh on their way to a 19-9 victory at Metropolitan on Tuesday afternoon.  

The Cavaliers pounded out 17 hits and drew nine base-on-balls on their ways to their 33rd win on the season. 

Six players produced multiple hits in the game, led by Blake Mozley with three. He had two singles and a triple, walked twice and scored four runs. 

Nick Iannantone, Cooper Combs, Noah Steele, Easton Elliot and Jeremy Rader each had two hits. Iannantone the led team with four RBI, followed by Radar with three and Combs and Steele with two each. Iannantone and Steele each homered in the game as well.   

Johnson County returns to conference action on Thursday when they travel to Parsons, Kan., to take on the Labette Cardinals in the first two games of a four-game series. JCCC will host Labette on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m.
