Johnson County baseball eliminated from JUCO World Series

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Johnson County Community College (JCCC) baseball team's impressive 2025 season came to a close Monday, May 26, with a 10-4 loss to defending national champion Blinn College in an elimination game at the NJCAA Division I World Series.

After a 2-2 tie through three innings, Blinn steadily pulled away by scoring two runs in each of the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, followed by single runs in the eighth and ninth. The Buccaneers tallied 14 hits in total, including three doubles and two home runs.

JCCC utilized seven pitchers in an effort to extend its season. Sophomore starter Josiah Golden took the loss, allowing three runs on six hits over four innings while recording five strikeouts. The Cavaliers totaled 10 strikeouts in the game.

Offensively, Johnson County collected eight hits but was unable to string them together for big innings. Sophomore outfielder Bo Shinkle drove in two runs, while sophomore catcher Miken Miller added an RBI single.

The Cavaliers finish the 2025 season with an outstanding 52-13 record and a 1-2 mark at the World Series.
