Cavaliers up 1-0 in best of three playoff series with Colby

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 4-ranked Johnson County baseball team defeated Colby 7-2 to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three playoff series opener. The Cavaliers will attempt to win the series Thursday at 1 p.m. 

Designated hitter Dagen Brewer and catcher Shae McGahan put on a hitting clinic Wednesday afternoon. Brewer went 4-for-5 with a home run, three runs and four RBI. McGahan collected three hits, including a double and a home run, to drive in the Cavaliers other three runs.

Left-hander Luc Fladda scattered eight eights and allowed just two runs, one earned, with six strikeouts to earn the complete game victory. With the win, Fladda improved to 10-0 on the season.
