OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College Golden Girls Dance Team is hosting a workshop for high school and college dancers interested in trying out for the Golden Girls team.  The workshop will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2024, and Sunday, March 24, 2024, in the JCCC main gymnasium. 

Check-in is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m., and the workshops will run from 1-4 p.m. Cost for the workshop is $15.  For a cost of $25, you can participate in both workshops. 

Please register by Friday, February 9, 2024, for the February 11, 2023, workshop, and by Friday, March 22, 2023, for the March 24, 2024, workshop.  Register by February 9, 2024, for both sessions.

If you miss the online registration cut-offs, please register in person with either cash or check.  If you are doing walk-in registration and are under the age of 18, you must have a parent or guardian at registration with you. 

Participants are asked to wear comfortable dance attire and non-marking shoes.

Workshop includes:
• Group stretch/warmup
• 1-2 short routines (any combination of Jazz, Hip-hop or Pom)
• 1 short sideline routine
• Technique/progressions across the floor
• Q and A session with current Golden Girls and helpful hints about tryouts 

This is a great opportunity to learn what it is like to be on a college dance team. Participants will be working with current members of the JCCC Golden Girls and have the chance to receive one-on-one attention.
