Lopez named to NJCAA D-I Men’s Soccer All-America Team

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sophomore forward Alan Lopez of the Johnson County Community College men's soccer team was named 2022 first-team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association earlier this week.  He is the 18th player in team history to be selected All-American, just the third to earn first-team honors and the first since the 2013 season.

This season, Lopez led JCCC, ranked second in the conference and 16th in the NJCAA with 33 points. He also ranked fourth in the conference and tied for 21st in the NJCAA with 13 goals scored. Lopez produced three multiple goal matches and scored four game winning goals, third most in the conference and 11th in the NJCAA. Twice during the season, he was selected the KJCCC Men's Division I Offensive Player of the Week, earning the award in weeks one and 11. He was also the NJCAA D-I Soccer Player of the Week October 26-Novemer 11.

For his career Lopez finished with 63 points, 23 goals, 17 assists and six game winning goals.  His 63 points rank tied for fourth all-time a JCCC. He also ranks sixth in career goals, fourth in career assists and tied the career mark for game winning goals with six.  

Lopez was also as first-team all-conference selection last year and was also twice named player of the week.
