Nyah Brown is a  gap-type hitter who will be battling for playing time a second base ... Needs to get her bat going to find a spot in the lineup this season.

Sophomore Year 2022

Played in 31 games, 28 as a starter … Batted .287 (23-for-80) with four doubles, five home runs, 20 runs scored and 20 driven in … Registered eight multiple-hit games, tied for third on the team, and six multiple-RBI, third-most on the squad … Posted a fielding percentage of .982, committing just one error in 57 fielding chances … Opened the season with a single in a 4-3 in over Marshalltown in the season opener (2-27-22) … Blasted a three-run home run in an 11-3 victory over North Central Missouri (3-1-22) … Followed with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in an 8-0 win over Iowa Central (3-3-22) … Had a season-long six game hitting streak from March 17 to March 26 … Started the streak with two single  in a 2-0 win at Allen (3-17-22) … Hit a two-run homer in an 8-2 win over Fort Scott (3-19-22) … Followed with a three-run blast in 6-4 win over Labette in game one of the double header (3-25-22) … Ripped two singles and drove in a run in the second game, an 11-7 victory … Went 2-for-3, both singles, with two runs and three RBI in a 10-0 win in the first game (3-26-22) … Capped the streak with a double, a walk and three runs in a 14-4 game two victory … Batted .600 (9-for-15) over the streak with a double, two home runs, nine runs scored and nine driven in … Had a single, a homer, two runs and two RBI in a 12-11 loss at Highland (4-2-22) … Had two hits with a double, a run and an RBI in a 5-0 win over Kansas City Kansas (5-7-22) … Collected two singles, scored a run and had an RBI in a 9-4 win over Independence, helping JCCC secure the KJCCC D-II Conference A championship (5-10-22).

Freshman Year 2021

Played in two games, one a starter … Was 0-for-1 at the plate, but scored a run in a 14-2 win at Hesston (4-29-21) … Made two putouts and one assist in her debut, a 3-1 win over Marshalltown (2-26-21).

High School

Was a two-year starter and three-time letter winner for coach Jay Honhollon at Seaman High School, Topeka, Kan. … Graduated 2020 … Did not play as a senior due to the COVID-19 pandemic … Earned Sports in Kansas All-State honorable mention as a junior …  Also earned All-City by the Topeka Capital-Journal and second-team All-Centennial League … Batted .462 (30-for-65) with seven doubles, a triple, two home runs, 19 runs scored and 18 driven in her junior year … As a sophomore, batted .327 (17-for-64) with two doubles, a triple, six runs and 14 RBI … Helped the Vikings to Regional Championships in 2017 and 2018 and a third-place finish at the 2018 Kansas 5A State Tournament … Played club ball for Fast & Furious and Topeka Mudhens.
