Porter helps lead women’s soccer team to a 5-0 shutout over Garden City

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team improved to 4-4-0 on the season with a 5-nil shutout over Garden City Saturday afternoon at the JCCC Soccer Complex.  All five goals came in the second half. 

Freshman forward Megan Everhart got the scoring going in the 48th minute off a feed from sophomore forward Riley Porter.  Five minutes later those two hooked up again, with Porter getting the goal on the assist from Everhart. 

Porter teamed up with freshman midfielder Alandra Bailey in the 55th minute to make it 3-0 and one minute later Bailey netted her second score off a feed from sophomore forward Samantha Grynkiewcz.

Porter earned her third assists of the match, and Everhart her second goal in the 60th minute to close out the scoring a 5-0. 

Johnson County travels across to town to take on Kansas City Kansas (2-2-1) on Wednesday, September 14 at 5 p.m. They host Hutchinson (6-0-0) on Saturday, September 17 at 5 p.m.
