Wallace tabbed week 1 KJCCC Women’s D-II Soccer Player of the Week

OVERLA ND PARK, Kan – Johnson County Community College forward Maya Wallace has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II women's soccer Player of the Week following the opening weekend of the 2024 season.

With the number three-ranked Cavaliers opening their season with a pair of ranked matchups in Arizona, Wallace finished the weekend with five total points as JCCC finished with a 3-3 tie against number 12-ranked Scottsdale and a 2-2 tie with number four-ranked Phoenix Community College. Against Scottsdale, Wallace scored two of the three goals for Johnson County and followed up her performance with an assist against the Bears as the goal came with just 25 seconds left in the match to secure the 2-2 draw.

Last season, Wallace was named All-Region 6 D-II and All-KJCCC D-II first-team after closing out the season with 19 points, registering six goals and seven assists.
