JCCC wins conference volleyball championship

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the 23rd time in program history, and fourth time under head coach Jennifer Ei, the Johnson County Community College volleyball team are champions of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division. 

The Lady Cavaliers completed an undefeated season in conference play with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-15) at Neosho County on Wednesday evening. JCCC enters the postseason ranked No 2 in the country with 32-3 mark. 

In the victory at Neosho County, sophomore outside hitter Jadyn Troutman led attack with 13 kills and a kill percentage of .393. She also recorded three blocks.  Troutman currently ranks second in the conference with a kill percentage of .357 and leads the conference in total blocks with 148. She is sixth overall with 343 kills.  With each match Troutman continues to move up the all-time leader board for kills. She stands in 12th place with 666 for her career. She needs just seven more to move into 10th place.

Sophomore setter Lauren McClure was masterful at running the offense, finishing with 35 assists, her third highest match total this season. She ranks sixth in the conference with 700 total assists on the season. 

Sophomore Addyson Mock and freshman Sydney Fiatte were solid in the back, each posting double figures in digs for the match. Mock led with 21, and Fiatte tallied 16. Mock currently has 571 total digs this season, second-most in the conference.
