Sydney Fiatte comes in as a freshman force both in setting and defense ... Her focus and strong work ethic are a huge asset to the team as well as her high level of experience at the club level ... Being able to move Syd from a setter to a DS depending on what the team needs is invaluable ... We look forward to seeing what she can do this season.

Freshman Year 2022

Played in 41 matches and 131 sets … Ranked second on the team with 382 assists and third with 264 digs … Averaged 2.92 assists per set and 2.02 digs per set … Reached double figures in assists in 22 matches, and nine times in digs with three double-doubles … Began her collegiate career with 10 assists in a 3-0 win over Waubonsee (8-19-22) followed by a 12 assist effort in a 3-0 win over No. 11-ranked Grand Rapids (8-19-22) … Credited with 13 assists in a sweep over No. 1-ranked Parkland a day later (8-20-22) … Posted her first double-double with 10 assists and a season-high 20 digs in a sweep over Peru State JV (8-27-22) … Recorded a second double-double with 10 assists and 12 digs in a sweep over Iowa Central (8-27-22) … Had a big weekend at the Kirkwood Classic recording 18 assists in 3-1 win over Lincoln Land (9-9-22), 19 in a 3-0 win over Illinois Central (9-9-22) and 14 in a 3-0 win over No. 6 Heartland (9-10-22) … Tallied 18 assists in a 3-0 win over Labette (9-28-22) followed by a season-best 21-assist effort in a 3-2 win at No. 2-ranked Cowley (9-30-22) … Notched her third double-double with 13 assists and 10 digs in a 3-0 win at Metropolitan (10-19-22) … Credited with 16 digs in JCCC’s conference title clinching victory at Neosho County (10-26-22) … Had 11 digs in a 3-0 win over Allen in the first round of the Region 6/Plains District A Tournament (11-2-22) … Followed with 15 digs in the 3-0 win over Coffeyville in the championship match (11-5-22).

Was a two-year starter and three-time letter winner for coach Deborah Fay at Mil Valley High School, Shawnee, Kan. … Graduated 2022 … Was the No. 10 ranked setter in the state of Kansas according to Maxpreps.com in 2021 … Earned first-team All-Sunflower League as a senior … Tallied 489 assists and a 5.6 per set average her senior season … Also finished with 196 digs and 30 aces … Helped Mill Valley to runner-up finishes at Substate her sophomore and senior years … Also played for the Dynasty Volleyball Club … Earned American Volleyball Coaches Association Best and Brightest second-team for academic success in 2021 … Also earned KVA All-Academic honorable mention and the Janice Van Gorp Sprint Award in 2021 … Played one season of club volleyball for the KC Twisters coach by Trey Littleton, four years for Dynasty coached by Conan Salanoa and one season with Pohaku coached by Sarah Dial … Honor roll student all four years and earned an Academic letter in 2019 and 2021.
