No. 6 JCCC handles Neosho County 3-1

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 6-ranked Johnson County volleyball team improved to 29-3 on the season with a 3-1 victory over Neosho County Wednesday night at the JCCC Gymnasium.  The Cavaliers won he first, third and fourth sets to claim the victory. 

Sophomore outside/right side hitter Sarina Ulberg (Independence, Mo.) had a big night at the net with a career high 18 kills while hitting at a .471 clip. She also registered three blocks. It was Ulberg's fifth consecutive match with double digit kills and 18th of the season.

Sophomore outside/right side hitter Sophia Ewy (Eudora, Kan.) also had a solid effort finishing with a career high 11 kills. 

Sophomore setter Sydney Fiatte (Shawnee, Kan.) and freshman setter Wren VanCleave (Bonner Springs, Kan.) each tallied 23 assists while leading the offense, and sophomore libero Emily Silvers (Lawrence, Kan.) and freshman Kennedy Smalley (Harrisonville, Mo.) each finished in double figures for digs with 17 and 13 respectively. Smalley also had six kills and had an attack percentage of .545. 

Johnson County (29-3/8-1) will close out its 2023 regular season on Saturday, October 28 when they host Highland (9-13/3-6) at 11 a.m.
