OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 10-ranked Johnson County men's basketball team shot 56 percent from the field to cruise to an 89-61 victory over Washburn University JV Monday at Lee Arena in Topeka, Kan., Monday night. The Cavaliers improved to 12-2 on the season, while the Ichabods JV team fell to 2-10.                     

Sophomore center Lukas Milner had a big night, posting his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds.  Milner hit 6-of-8 shots, upping his season field goal percentage to 74.7 which leads the conference and ranks third in the NJCAA. 

Sophomore guard Nic Slavin led the Cavaliers with 17 points. He hit 6-of-7 shots including all four 3-point attempts.  Freshman guard Kylan Thomas followed with 14 points on 6-o-9 shooting.  Those three players combined to shoot 75 percent. 

Sophomore guard JaQuaylon Mays, this week's conference player of the week, and freshman guard Ontario Bingley also posted double figures with 12 and 10 respectively.  Freshman guard Braijion Barnes added nine points and five assists in 20 mintues of action, and sophomore guard Macaleb Hughes finished with six points and eight boards. 

The Cavaliers have two home games remaining before the holiday break. They host No. 1-ranked North Iowa Area Community College Friday, December 13 at 7 p.m., and Iowa Western Community College on Saturday, December 14 at 4 p.m.  The game against Iowa Western will mark 1,000 game in head coach Mike Jeffers' 33-year coaching career.
