OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Three Johnson County players posted double-doubles Saturday afternoon as the Cavaliers rallied in the second half to beat Fort Scott, 80-74, at JCCC Gymnasium. With the victory, Johnson County secured the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Division II regular season title outright. It is the third title for head coach Rand Chappell in his five years with the program.

JCCC honored the member of its sophomore class prior to the game as the Cavaliers improve to 26-3 and 13-0 in the KJCCC. Fort Scott fell to 13-13 and 5-8 in conference play. Johnson County's sophomore 2024-25 sophomore class included forward Brandon Mann, guard Steven Samuels, guard Mauryon Turner, guard Ben Miller, forward Eric Holmes, guard Jordan Jenkins and forward Traeger Rader.

Tied at 61-61 with 5:16 to play, Mann drained two free throws and freshman guard Gavin Harvey made one after a technical foul to give JCCC a three-point and that would be the closest the Greyhounds be the remainder of the game.

Mann was the game's top scorer with 21 points. He made 7-of-11 shots and was 7-for-10 at the line. He also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Harvey followed with 14 points and dished out 10 assists for his first double-double of the season. He did post a triple-double against

Freshman forward Tavian Cruse and freshman guard Joey Robinson jones Harvey with double-doubles for JCCC. Cruse made 6-of-9 shots for 12 points and grabbed 10 boards for his team-leading 11 double-double on the season.  Robinson knocked down a game-high three treys to finish with 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the year.

Turner provided nine points, four rebounds and a season-high four steals off the bench.

Fort Scott was led by point guard Jadyn Hollis with 19 points followed by Marko Taft with 12.

The Cavaliers close out the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Hesston, Kansas to take on the Larks (11-14 / 5-7).  JCCC defeated Hesston earlier this month 77-52.  A win would give Johnson County a perfect record in conference play for just the second time on program history.
