Sixth-ranked Cavaliers cruise to a 36-point win over Tabor JV

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The sixth-ranked Johnson County men's basketball team extended its win streak to six straight games with a 99-63 victory over Tabor College JV, Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium. 

Freshman guard Xavier Kahube registered his best effort as a college player, finishing with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds, both new season highs. His previous highs were 12 points and six boards. Kahube was blistering hot from the field,  hitting 12-fo-15 shots. 

Four other Cavaliers posted double digits in scoring. Sophomore forward Jaland Whitehead and sophomore guard Jaycson Bereal each poured in 13 points. Whitehead was 6-of-10 shooting with a 3-poiner, and he grabbed eight rebounds.  Bereal his 6-of-8 shots with a trey, and was credited with four rebounds and two assists.

Freshman guard Stacy Washington, Jr., who made his second appearance this season, was credited with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals in 15 minutes of action.

Sophomore center Latre Morrison contributed eight points and five boards, and freshman guard Savonni Love pulled down eight missed shots and scored four points. 

Johnson County will play at home three times this week beginning with Baker University JV on Monday, February 22 at 6 p.m. They host Metropolitan Community College Wednesday, February 24th at 7:30 p.m., and open conference play against Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday, February 27 at 4 p.m.
