OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For just the second time this season, the fourth-ranked Johnson County men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard, falling 75-71 at No. 14 Allen Community College Monday night.

Both teams will square off again on Thursday night, February 24 with a conference championship on the line. The Cavaliers (26-2/11-2) can clinch a share of the title with Allen (23-5/12-1) with a victory. The Red Devils can win the championship outright with a victory. The game can be heard on 1660 The Bet on the Audacy App.

The Red Devils ability to get to the free throw line and convert proved to be the difference in the game. Allen was 26-of-35 at the line, while the Cavaliers shot just 45 percent going 9-for-20

Freshman guard Desi Williams came in off the bench to pace Johnson County with 25 points. He was 9-of-18 from the field, 4-of-9 from 3-point range, and 3-of-4 at the free throw line. He also had four assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore forward Jaland Whitehead picked up his 17 double-double of the season and his 30th of his JCCC career finishing with 16 points and 14 rebounds. He hit 8-of-11 shots and seven of his 14 boards were on the offensive end. Whitehead's 30 career double-doubles are a program record.

The Cavaliers' leading scorer, freshman Tymer Jackson, was held to nine points in just 10 minutes of floor time.

Ed Wright led Allen with 25 points, followed by Zabriel Boozer with 21.
