JCCC rallies from 15 down for a 79-62 victory over Metropolitan

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College men's basketball team turned a 15-point first half deficit into a 17-point victory, rallying for a 79-62 victory over Metropolitan Community College Thursday night at JCCC Gymnasium.

Sophomore All-American guard Tymer Jackson scored a game-high 24-points, 18 in the second half, to key the Cavaliers comeback win and up their season mark t 10-4. Jackson was 7-of-14 shooting with a 3-pointer, and 9-of-11 at the free throw line. He also has seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Sophomore guard Seth Chargois followed with 15 points off the bench, hitting 7-of-11 shots with one trey. 

Sophomore forward Ryan Gordon and sophomore guard Josh Jordan also finished in double figures. Gordon tallied 13-point and seven rebounds, and Jordan finished with 10 points. 

Freshman forward Kyler Mann was the Cavaliers top rebounder with nine. He also contributed seven points. 

Metropolitan built its 15 first half margin by going 5-of-10 from beyond the 3-point arc. They finished 5-for-22 missing all 12 attempts in the second half. 

Johnson County returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Southeast Community College at 3 p.m.
