OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County men's basketball team dominated Hesston on Saturday afternoon, downing the Larks by a final score of 95-62. A highlight in the game came early in the contest when sophomore guard Tymer Jackson tallied his 1,000th career point to become just the 14th player in team history to achieve the milestone.

Jackson finished the game with 15 points, hitting 6-of-12 shots with two 3-pointers, and a free throw. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists.

However, Jackson was not the Cavaliers' top performer. That honor went to Ryan Gordon. The sophomore forward from Little Rock, Ark., was 6-of-9 from the field and 5-of-6 at the line to finish with 17 points. He also tied for the team lead in rebounds with nine.

Sophomore guard Desi Williams also posted a solid line of 14 points and six rebounds.

Head coach Rand Chappel was also happy with the performance from his bench players who accounted for 34 points led by sophomore guard Kaleim Taylor tallied 13 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Freshman guard Massi Malterer followed with 10 points and sophomore guard Seth Chargois added nine points.

The Cavaliers head into the final stretch of the regular season as they travel to Highland on Wednesday, February 22 and then host Neosho County on Saturday, February 25 at 4 p.m.
