OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County men's basketball advanced to the semifinals of the Region VI semifinals by defeating Neosho County 92-84 Monday night at JCCC Gymnasium. The Cavaliers (24-7) will face Fort Scott (19-12) on Friday, March 10 at MidAmerica Nazarene. The tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. The other semifinal pits Kansas City Kansas (19-12) against Allen (22-9). The winners advance to the Championship on Saturday, March 11 at 4 p.m.
Five Cavaliers scored in double figures highlighted by an extraordinary effort by sophomore Desi Williams. The former Park Hill South guard flirted with a quadruple double posting 17 points, nine steals, eight assists seven rebounds. His nine steals tie the second most in game in program history.
Sophomore All-American guard Tymer Jackson led JCCC with 19 points, followed by sophomore forward Xavier Kahube with 14, sophomore forward Ryan Gordon with 11 and freshman guard Kaleim Taylor with 10.
