Mann brother power No. 4 Cavaliers to 40-point win over OnPoint Academy

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The No. 4 ranked Johnson County men's basketball team defeated OnPoint Academy 96-56 on Friday to improve to a perfect 7-0 on the season behind the play of Mann brothers.

Freshman Brandon Mann led the team with 17 points and eight rebounds. He hit 8-of-11 shots and was 1-for-1 at the free throw line. Sophomore Kyler Mann was one behind with 16 points of 5-7 shooting, with two 3-pointers and four free throws. He also grabbed seven boards and led the team with five assists.

Also in double figures were sophomore forward Traymond Willis-Shaw with 12 points and sophomore guard Stavian Jones and freshman forward Traeger Rader each with 10 points. They combined to hit 14-of-22 shots. As a team the Cavaliers hit 51.9 percent from the field. Jones also had seven rebounds and four assists. Rader had four boards and Willis-Shaw tallied four.

Johnson County will take on Arkansas State Mid-South Saturday at 1 p.m., at Highland Community College. The Greyhounds (3-3) received votes in the last week's NJCAA D-II national rankings. Last season, JCCC defeated Arkansas State Mid-South 79-63 to place seventh at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament.
