OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College freshman forward Tavian Cruse has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Men's Basketball Player of the Week for week five. He is the first JCCC player to be selected his season. 

Last week, Cruse posted his sixth double-double in just 10 games played as a collegiate player in a 111-42 romp over Kansas Christian College JV. The Bonner Springs native finished with 17 points and a season-high 16 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to their eighth straight win and ninth victory this season. 

Cruse was efficient from the field, making 7-of-10 shot attempts while also going one-for-one from 3-point range and 2-for-2 at the free throw line.

For the season, Cruse is averaging a double-double of 13.6 points and 10.3 rebounds, which leads all KJCCC D-II players. He also ranks seventh in field goals percentage at 53.5 percent and eighth in scoring average.
