OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County Community College men's soccer team earned a hard-fought 2-0 shutout over Allen Community College in both team's conference opener on Saturday in Iola, Kan. 

Freshman midfielder Akeem Robotham gave the Cavaliers a 1-0 lead just before halftime off a feed from sophomore midfielder Marcos Vinicius at the 44:26 mark. It was Robotham's first goal of the season. 

Sophomore forward Victor Choi added an insurance goal in the 76th minute, his first of the season and fifth of his career.  Freshman defender/midfielder J.T. Sherman was credited with the assist. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Pedro Ivaskoski may have played one of his best game's in net of his career with the Cavaliers. Ivaskoski stopped a career-high 14 shots to earn his second shutout of his career. 

Johnson County will travel to Arkansas City, Kan., for a conference title against Cowley College. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
