JCCC blanks Hesston 8-0 for largest home shutout since 2007

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 8-ranked Johnson County Community College men's soccer team put up dominant effort in an 8-0 over Hesston College Saturday night at the JCCC Soccer Complex. It is the largest home shutout in since blanking the Larks 8-0 back on October 10, 2007. It is also the largest shutout since posting a 8-nil win at Dodge City Community College on October 16, 2010. 

Eight different players netting goals in the match with sophomore midfielder Monty Almaliky starting the scoring barrage in the fourth minute with his sixth score of the year. The Brueckner twins, Caleb and Jacob, were credited with assists on the play.

Johnson County extended their lead to 3-nil in the 26th minute on a goal by freshman midfielder Ben Points with assists going to sophomore midfielder Brian Aleman and freshman forward Tanner Poirier,  and one minute, 36-seconds later sophomore midfielder Cade Gassman made it 4-0 off a feed from freshman midfielder Grayson Niswonger

The Cavaliers would add four more scores in the second half from freshman midfielder Kael Drummond, sophomore forward Dominic Zuniga, freshman midfielder Parker Hylok and freshman defender Liam Catano

Zuniga, freshman midfielder Marco Hernandez, Drummond and Points all picked up assists in the second half. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Brody Macoubrie earned the shutout, his second of the season and fifth of his career. 

Johnson County (11-3-0) has two matches remaining in the regular season, both on the road at Pratt Community College Wednesday, October 16 and at Southeast Community College on Saturday, October 19.
