JCCC’s Almaliky and Seffens selected KJCCC D-II Men’s Soccer Player and Goalkeeper of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College midfielder Monty Almaliky and goalkeeper Ben Seffens were selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Player and Goalkeeper of the Week for week 3 on Tuesday.  This is the third straight week JCCC as swept the weekly honors, and second time Seffens has been selected. 

Monty Almaliky scored three second half goals to power the No. 13 ranked Cavaliers to a 4-1 home victory over Marshalltown on August 30. The freshman from Wichita scored in the 52nd minute off an assist from Caleb Brueckner. His second goal came on a penalty kick I the 67th minute and he completed the hat trick with an unassisted goal in the 79th minute. Almaliky's hat trick is the first since September 21, 2016, a span of seven years. 

Seffens stopped four of five shots he faced to help the Cavaliers to the victory over Marshalltown. The week before Seffens made his JCCC debut and stopped all four shots he faced to register a 4-0 shutout over Hawkeye.
