OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 12-ranked Johnson County Community College men's soccer team snapped a three-game winless streak rallying for a 4-1 victory over Allen Community College in a Kansas Jayhawk Conference Division II match on Wednesday night at the JCCC Soccer Complex. JCCC was 0-1-2 in its three previous matches.

The Red Devils got on the board first on a goal by Pedro De Silva in the 19th minute.

Allen maintained their advantage until the 40th minute when freshman midfielder Monty Almaliky (Wichita, Kan.) broke through with the equalizer with an assisted goal, his sixth of the season.

Two minutes later sophomore midfielder Ryan Masterson (Overland Park, Kan.) gave the Cavaliers the lead with his fourth score on the year. Sophomore midfielder Tre Smith provided the assist, giving him five on the season.

The Cavaliers put the match away in the second half with two insurance goals. Sophomore forward Jacksyn McIntyre (Blue Springs, Mo.) found the back of the net in the 52nd minute off a feed from freshman midfielder Jordan Gaona (Liberty, Mo.). It was McIntyre's seventh goal of the season and 15th of his career and Gaona's third assist.

Almaliky closed out the scoring with a penalty kick in the 63rd minute, upping his season goals total to seven. It was also his second multiple-goal match of the year. He and McIntyre are tied for fifth in the conference in goals scored and tied for fourth in total points with 17.

Freshman goalkeeper Brody Macoubrie (De Soto, Kan.) earned the victory, saving six of the seven shots he faced. He now stands 7-3-3 on the season with a goals against average of 1.60.

Johnson County continues conference play on Saturday, October 7, at Hesston College. The Cavaliers defeated the Larks 3-nil earlier this season.
