Slavens named KJCCC Baseball Player of the Week

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the third consecutive week a member of the Johnson County baseball team has been selected as Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference performer of the week. This week sophomore infielder Brady Slavens of Olathe, Kan., was picked the week three Player of the Week. Izack Tiger, a freshman right-hander from Butler, was picked as the Pitcher of the Week.  In the first week, JCCC freshman outfielder Quinton Hall earned the honor. In week two, sophomore right-hander Paul Rector was the pitcher selected. 

Slavens batted .470 (8-for-17) with a double, a triple, five home runs, nine runs scored and 12 driven in over in six victories last week for the No. 13-ranked Cavaliers.  For the season, Slavens is hitting .444 and 10 of his 16 hits have gone for extra bases. 

Since 2014, Johnson County baseball players and pitchers have been honored 34 times by the conference, including the three this season.
