Slavens earns KJCCC Baseball Player of the Week for week four

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the third second consecutive week, Johnson County Community College sophomore infielder Brady Slavens has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Player of the Week. It also marks the fourth straight a member of JCCC's team has been honored by the conference. JCCC freshman outfielder Quinton Hall earned the honor. In week two, sophomore right-hander Paul Rector was the pitcher selected.

This week sophomore infielder Brady Slavens of Olathe, Kan., was picked the week three Player of the Week. Izack Tiger, a freshman right-hander from Butler, was picked as the Pitcher of the Week.  In the first week, 

Slavens batted .600 (9-for-15) with two doubles, a triple, three home runs, six runs scored and 13 driven in over in four victories last week for the No. 13-ranked Cavaliers.  In the final game of the series against Kirkwood, Slavens was 4-for-4 with a double, two home runs and six RBIs. For the season, Slavens is hitting .490 with 16 of his 25 hits have going for extra bases. He leads the conference and is tied for third with 28 RBIs. He also leads the conference and is tied third nationally with eight home runs. 

Since 2014, Johnson County baseball players and pitchers have been honored 35 times by the conference.
