OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team opened the 2021 campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory over No. 14-ranked Lewis & Clark in Godfrey, Ill, on Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore midfielder/defender Tio Krizogono fired a shot into the net in the 12th minute that proved to be all the scoring the Lady Cavaliers would need. It was Krizogono's nine career goal and third game winner. Freshman forward Samantha Grynkiewicz provided the game winning assist.

Freshman defender Emree Bell provided an insurance goal in the 40th minute off a feed from freshman forward Brock Allen

Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Ways stopped all four shots she faced to notch her third career full shutout.  Ways now has 17 career victories, which ranks her tied for 10th all-time at JCCC.

Johnson County will open conference play on Wednesday, September 1, at Coffeyville Community College. The Ravens stand 1-1-0 on the season.
