Women’s soccer rallies for a 3-1 win at Hutchinson

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team rallied from a 1-nil deficit with three goals in the second half to pull out the victory at Hutchinson Saturday evening.  With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 5-5-0 on the season and now lead the season series with the Blue Dragons 15-7-1.

Hutchinson struck first with a goal in the 18th minute by Aimee Maher, but just five minutes into the second half sophomore defender Sheryah Gavel pulled JCCC even with her third goal of the season.  Sophomore forward Samantha Grynkiewcz earned the assist. 

In the 65 minutes freshman forward Megan Everhart put the Cavaliers on top off feed from sophomore defender Monique Fair, and seven minutes later she found the back of the net again upping her season total to five goals along with four assists. Freshman forward Emma Le was credited with the assist. 

Freshman Jayla Brazzel minded the nets for JCCC and earned her second victory on the season. She stopped four the five shots she faced. 

Johnson County will look to get above .500 on the season when they host Neosho County on Wednesday, September 21st at 5 p.m.
