No. 8 JCCC women’s soccer pummel Pratt 11-nil in conference finale

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 8-ranked Johnson County Community College women's soccer team scored early and often netting eight first-half goals on their way to 11-0 blowout over Pratt Community College on Wednesday evening at the JCCC Soccer Complex.

The 11-0 shutout is the largest in the eight-game series history. The Cavaliers have outscored the Beavers 48-to-0 in the series.

Freshman forward Jenna Knight (Edwardsville, Kan.) earned a playmaker providing three assists, to move her into the lead in the conference standing with nine on the season. She provided the assist on JCCC's first two scores and on the ninth goal. She also scored the third goal of the match. 

Freshman midfielder Izzy Farris (Spring Hill, Kan.) tallied two goals for her second multiple-goal match of the season. 

Freshman forward Maya Wallace (Shawnee, Kan.), freshman midfielder Sydney Puetz (Garden Plain, Kan.) and sophomore midfielder Sydney Hammett (Lee's Summit, Mo.) each provided a goal and an assist. 

Also scoring a goal were freshman defender Montana-Rose Curry (Woongarrah, NSW, Australia), freshman defender Sophia Abbott (Adelaide, South Australia), sophomore midfielder Avleen Kang (Overland Park, Kan.) and sophomore midfielder Alandra Bailey (Topeka, Kan.).

Freshman goalkeeper Frankie Williams (Manchester, England) earned the shutout, her fifth of the season. She stands 6-1-2 overall and has a goals against average of 0.67. 

Johnson County (12-2-2) closes out his regular season on Tuesday, October 17 at 6 p.m., when they host Metropolitan Community College.
