
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 3-ranked Johnson County Community College women's soccer team have a pair of repeat winners of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division II Players of the Week with forward Maya Wallace and goalkeeper Maddox Fergus earning their second award of the year. Wallace earned her first honor in first week, and Fergus earned her first honor last week.
Wallace tallied three goals and added four assists for 10 points over three matches last week. After scoring two goals and providing two assists in a 12-0 blowout of State Fair, Wallace helped the Lady Cavaliers earn a 3-nil win over No. 8 Iowa Central by netting a goal and assisting on two other scores. Wallace currently leads the conference in points (15) and assists (5) and is tied for second in goals scored (5).
In her only action last week, Fergus stopped all six shots she faced to post a 3-0 shutout over No. 8 Iowa Central. The shutout was her second on the season and ninth of her career. She has not allowed a goal in the past 180 minutes between the pipes. Fegus is currently tied for first in the conference in shutouts, ranks second in wins (2), third in saves (16) and fourth in goals against average (1.14).
