Jackson’s hot hand again leads Cavaliers to a victory

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County freshman guard Tymer Jackson (Olathe North HS) is off to an incredible start to his career with the Cavaliers. He has scored in double figures in all five games, and over the weekend top 20+ points in both victories. 

After pouring in a season-high 25 on Friday night, Jackson again led his team with 24 points in a 62-53 win over Southwestern on Saturday night at JCCC Gymnasium.  He was 7-of-13 shooting, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and hit 6-of-8 charity attempts. He also grabbed eight rebounds, had four assists and four steals.  For the season, Jackson is averaging 18.0 point and is shooting 51 percent from the field. His per game average currently ranks him second in the D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference.

Bing Haung reached double digits for the first time this season with 11, and All-American Jaland Whitehead posted his fourth double-double in five games, finishing with 10 points and 15 boards. 

The Cavaliers (5-0) hit the floor again on Wednesday, November 17, when they host Metropolitan Community College at 7:30 p.m.
