Jackson earns second KJCCC D-II Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – For the second time this season, Johnson County guard Tymer Jackson has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) D-II Men's Basketball Player of the Week.   

The Olathe North product averaged 18.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals while leading the No. 5 Cavaliers to a pair of victories for week ending November 28. He also shot 46 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range Jackson opened the week with 15 points, three rebounds, four assists and three steals in a 106-69 win over MidAmerica Nazarene JV, and capped the week with 22 points, four assists and two steals in a come-from-behind 65-59 win over Southeast. Jackson scored 15 of his game 22 points in the second half.  

For the season, Jackson ranks second on the D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference with a scoring average of 18.7 points. He topped double figures in nine of the 10 games, including a 35-point outburst in a victory over Metropolitan. He is also averaging 3.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.2 steals. He is tied for third in the conference in both assists and steals.
