NJCAA D-I All-Americans (3)

Deon Kayhill
1972 2nd-Team
Forward • 6-5 • Topeka, Kan.

Deon Kayhill became JCCC’s first NJCAA All-American when he earned the honor
following his sophomore season in 1972, after leading the Kansans in scoring with a 17.7 per game average.  Kayhill’s play was key in leading JCCC to its first 20-win season and its first conference championship.  Kayhill also led the team in scoring his freshman year and closed out his career with 1,045 points.  He was the first to top the 1,000-point mark in school history.  Today, he ranks tied for sixth all-time.

Bev Mitchell
1973 2nd-Team
Forward • 6-5 • Wichita, Kan.

Bev Mitchell led the Kansans in scoring,
averaging 20.1 point per game, and his 23-point average against conference opponents led the league.  Mitchell’s play helped JCCC to a school record 25 wins and a record 16-game winning streak.  The Kansans were ranked all season and finished seventh in the final NJCAA poll.  Mitchell also became the school’s second player to top 1,000 points in a career, reaching 1,061, an average of 18.3 per game over his career.  That total currently ranks fifth all-time.per game average remain the standard.

Tony Harris
1988 2nd-Team

Tony Harris’ monster
campaign of 1987-88 is the season which all Cavaliers are measured.  Harris etched his name forever in the annuals of JCCC basketball, setting single game and season scoring records.  After the end of the season, Harris held nine of the top 10 single game scoring marks.  He scored 50 points against Malcolm X and tallied 40 or more points in six other games.  By season’s end, he had become the all-time single season scoring leader with 896 points.  Harris finished third in the country in scoring.  Today that mark ranks 12th on the career chart.  Harris went on to play at the University of New Orleans and with the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics in the NBA.

NJCAA D-II All-Americans (20)

Jimmy Hubbard
2000 3rd-Team, 2001 2nd-Team

Jimmy Hubbard became the program’s fourth All-American in 2000, but the first in Division II.  He followed by becoming the program’s first two-time All-American, earning third-team honors in 2001.  The 6-6 forward led the Cavaliers basketball squad in virtually every statistical category as a freshman.  He led in points (536), points per game average (16.8), rebounds (203), rebound average (6.3), 3-point baskets (56) and 3-point field goal percentage (.421).  As a sophomore, Hubbard finished second in scoring.  He also helped the Cavaliers capture its first NJCAA National Championship, and post a school record mark of 30-6.  He averaged 15.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the tournament, and was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team.  Hubbard also earned East Jayhawk All-Conference honors, and was twice voted the top player in Region VI Division II.  Hubbard became just the seventh player to top 1,000 points for his career.  He finished tied for fourth all-time with 1,045. He now is tied for fifth. Hubbard averaged 15.8 points a game over his career, and scored in double figures 54 times, including 24 games with 20 or more points.  He also became just the fourth player to hit more than 100 three-point baskets in his career.  He finished with 130, the second highest total in school history.

Chris Lollar
2001 1st-Team

Chris Lollar became the first player in Johnson County history to earn first-team All-American honors.  He also is the first player to be named the NJCAA Player of the Year.  Lollar played a key role in leading the Cavaliers to a 30-6 record and a national championship. Lollar wasted little time adjusting to the collegiate game.  He set school assist records for a game (19) and season (309), and shattered the season record by 69 assists.  His 309 assists are the third highest season total in Region VI basketball history.  On the season, he posted 13 games with double figure assists.  But Lollar was equally effective as a scorer.  He scored in double figures 22 times, including a career high 20 points on two occasions.  In the national championship game, Lollar hit three three-point baskets and finished with 11 points and seven assists.  Lollar received the A. Fred Pohlman Sportsman Award at the national tournament.  He also was selected as an East Jayhawk All-Conference and All-Region VI D-II performer.  He finished the season averaging 10.7 points and 8.6 assists per game.  Lollar also led the team with 92 steals. Lollar was selected as a preseason All-American prior to his sophomore season.  Lollar capped his career by becoming the all-time leader in assist at JCCC, finishing with 489. 

Caleb Kennedy
2002 3rd-Team

Caleb Kennedy became the sixth individual to earn
selection to the NJCAA All-America team.  Kennedy registered a spectacular sophomore season.  He led the Cavaliers in both scoring and rebounding in 2001-02.  Kennedy averaged 16.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, becoming just the 10th player in JCCC history, and first since 1991-92, to end a season averaging a double-double.  Kennedy registered 19 double-doubles on the season.  He scored in double figures 26 times, and had eight games of 20 or more points.  Kennedy also pulled down 339 rebounds on the season, which ranked fifth nationally.  His 10.9 per game average was the eighth best in NJCAA Division II.  His 339 total rebounds rank as the seventh best season total in Johnson County history. Kennedy was also selected as an East Jayhawk All-Conference and NJCAA D-II All-Region VI performer.  As a freshman, Kennedy emerged as one of the key players on the floor for Johnson County before achilles injury ended his freshman campaign.  He started the team’s first 10 games, and averaged 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds.  He scored in double figures in nine of his 10 starts, and posted three double-doubles over that short span.  For his career, Kennedy registered an impressive 21 double-doubles in his career at JCCC.  He also led JCCC to a 31-14 record with him as a starter.

Chad Fleming
2003 2nd-Team

Chad Fleming became the seventh individual to earn NJCAA All-America accolades, earning second-team honors following the 2002-03 campaign.  He is the fifth player under Coach Jeffers direction to earn that honor.  Earlier in the year, Fleming earned the Region VI Division II MVP honor, and was named to the East Jayhawk Conference second-team.  Fleming led the Cavaliers in nearly every category in 2002-03.  He was the team’s top offensive player, averaging 15.3 points per game.  He also led JCCC in 2-point field goals (50), assists (107), free throws (113) and steals (53). He was the team’s No. 2 rebounder, averaging 5.9 per game.  Fleming led JCCC in scoring 18 times, including a career-best 32 points in a win at Fort Scott.  He led JCCC in rebounding eight times, including an 18-rebound effort in a win over Kansas City Kansas.  That performance ties the eighth-best single game effort in JCCC history.  The Cavaliers finished the 2002-03 campaign 15-16, and were runners-up in the Region VI D-II tournament.  As a freshman, Fleming averaged 8.8 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while helping JCCC to a 21-10 record, and a second-place region finish.  For his career, Fleming averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds.  He also shot 43 percent from the field, including 33 percent from 3-point range.  He started 58 of his 62 career games.

Todd McCoy
2006 2nd-Team

Todd McCoy became the eighth individual from JCCC to be selected as an NJCAA All-America performer, earning second-team honors following the 2005-06 season.  His efforts helped JCCC post an 18-15 record and win its fourth Region VI Division II championship.  He also earned first-team East Jayhawk Conference and Region VI accolades.   McCoy nearly led the Cavaliers in every category.  He was the team’s top offensive player, averaging 16.2 points per game, and top rebounder with a 7.6 per game average.  McCoy also led the team in free throws made (130), free throw percentage (.756) and field goals made (184).  He was second in 3-point field goals made (37), 3-point field goal percentage (.370) and steals (60).  McCoy scored in double figures in 29 games, including 10 games with 20 or mores points.  He also had 12 double-doubles on the season, which led the team.  He was the top scorer in 15 games, and top rebounder 17 times.  He poured in a career-best 30 point against defending Region VI Division I champion Pratt at the Jayhawk Shootout.  McCoy etched his name among the all-time leaders at JCCC.  His 535 total points on the season ranked him 16th on the season chart.  His 130 free throws and .756 free throw percentage rank seventh and 10th on the season charts.

Aaron Linn
2007 3rd-Team

Aaron Linn became the ninth individual from JCCC to be selected as an NJCAA All-America performer, earning third-team honors following the 2006-07 season.  His efforts helped JCCC post an 16-19 record, region and district championships and a tie for ninth in the NJCAA D-II National Tournament.   He also earned second-team East Jayhawk Conference and first-team Region VI accolades.   Linn led JCCC in scoring with 634 points, an average of 18.6 per game.  That total ties the fifth-best season in team history.  Linn also led the squad with 78 3- point baskets and 80 steals, which rank him fifth and 11th on JCCC’s season chart.  His effort helped lead JCCC to its third NJCAA National Tournament appearance.  The team finished tied for ninth at this year’s tournament.  Linn scored 17 points in the first game against eventual national champion Mott, and had 18 points against Phoenix College.   Linn ends his career at JCCC ranked among the all-time career leaders in several categories.  Most notably, Linn moved into the No. 3 spot all-time in scoring with 1,113 points.  He is just the eighth player in team history to score over 1,000 points in a career.  He also ranked second in career 3-point field goals and career free throws with 146 and 257 respectively.

Nafis Ricks
2008 1st-Team, 2009 1st-Team

Nafis Ricks was named to 2008 and 2009 NJCAA Division II All-America first-team, becoming just one of three players in NJCAA history to earn first-team All-American in back-to-back seasons.  In 2009, Ricks led JCCC to a national title and was awarded the tournament’s MVP honor.  He led JCCC in scoring with a average of 17.2 points.  He scored in double figures in 32 of 33 games and recorded a rare triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Highland.  Rick was also named the State Farm Coaches NJCAA Player of the Year in 2009.  In his freshman year, Ricks led the team in scoring (15.4), rebounding (7.4) and steals (87). He scored in double figures in 27 games, and had six double doubles of points and rebounds.  Twice Ricks was selected the NJCAA D-II Player of the Week. Ricks also was selected to the NABC State Farm All-America team, the first player at JCCC to earn this honor.  He was twice honored as an All-East Jayhawk Conference performer and was voted the East Jayhawk Freshman of the Year in 2008.

Ronnie Boggs
2010 3rd-Team
Guard • 6-3 • Grandview, Mo.

Ronnie Boggs earned NJCAA third-team All-American in 2010, becoming the 10th different player in the history to this honor, but just the fourth to earn the award as a freshman.  Boggs led JCCC in scoring with 551 points, an average of 17.2 per game, and was the top rebounder with an 8.4 average per game.  He also led in blocked shots with 37 and finished second in steals with 48.  On the season, Boggs scored in double figures 25 times, and had double figures in rebounds 10 times. He was JCCC’s leading scorer in nine games, and top rebounder 21 times. Boggs began his collegiate career with a 28-point, 11-rebound effort in a win over St. Mary’s JV. A month later in a win over Hesston, Boggs poured in a career high 36 points.

Quasim Jones
2012 2nd-team
Guard • 6-1 • Philadelphia, Pa.

Quasim Jones became the program’s 12th NJCAA All-American in 2011-12, earning second-team honors after leading JCCC to a NJCAA D-II Tournament berth. Jones averaged 17.6 points per game while helping the Cavaliers reach the NJCAA Division II National Tournament this season.  He scored in double figures 28 times, including a season-high 31 points in a 90-79 win at Fort Scott in mid-February. In that game, Jones tied a school record knocking down nine 3-point baskets. He finished the season with 70 treys. He also shot a team-best .802 at the free throw line, which ranks as the fifth-best season percentage in team history.  In JCCC’s three games at the National Tournament, Jones averaged 16.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and shot 81 percent at the line.  Nationally, Jones’ 17.6 per game average ranked 48th in the NJCAA, and his .802 free throw percentage ranked 34th. 

Pat Jones
2014 2nd-Team
Guard • 6-1 • Leawood, Kan.

In 2013-14, Pat Jones became the 13th different player to to be named NJCAA All-American, earned the 15th honor for JCCC. Jones, who will attend Lyn University in Boca Raton, Fla., averaged an impressive 20.6 points per game, making him just the sixth player in the 45-year history of the program to finish a season with an average over 20 per game. He reached double figures 24 times on the season. He had 17 games in the 20s, six in the 30s and he poured in a career high 41 in a win at Hesston in late January. That effort tied the sixth-best game by a Cavalier, and he drained eight 3-point baskets, one shy of the single game record. Jones also hit 86 3-point baskets on the season, and 193 free throws. Both totals rank second on JCCC’s season charts. Jones also was named the Kansas Jayhawk Conference D-II MVP, a first in team history. For his career, Jones scored 843 points, hit 114 3-point baskets and 255 free throws, which rank 25th, 10th and sixth respectively at JCCC.

Danzel Wright
2016 1st-Team
Guard • 6-0 • Washington, D.C.

Danzel Wright, who also was named first-team and MVP of the D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference, graduated from Johnson County as one of the most prolific scorers in the program’s history. His freshman season, Wright set a new freshman scoring record with 665 points. His sophomore season, Wright poured in 591 points (19.1 ppg) and finished with 1,256 points, second most in JCCC history. He is the 12th player ever to score over 1,000 points in a career at the college. He set a new career mark for made 3-pointers (172), and he ranks among the all-time leaders in career points per game average (19.9-6th), field goals (381-9th), free throws (322-2nd) and free throw percentage (2nd).In 2015-16, Wright led the KJCCC D-II Conference in scoring, ranked second in 3-point field goals percentage (43.0), second in 3-pont field goals made (102), first in free throw percentage (83.5), first in free throws made (137) and fourth in assists (88). Nationally he tied for 28th in scoring, 40th in 3-point field goal percentage, and 20th in free throw percentage. His 88 3-pointers set a new season record. His performance helped the Cavaliers to a 25-6 record and a share of the conference title, first for the program in 41 years. The 25 season victories tie the fifth-best season in team history.

Anthony Lupardus
2018 3rd-Team
Guard • 6-0 • Lee’s Summit, Mo.

Anthony Lupardus, who also was named first-team and MVP of the D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference, helped Johnson County to an undefeated conference title this season. Last year, helped lead the Cavaliers to a District title and an eighth-place finish at the NJCAA D-II Tournament. Lupardus ends his career at JCCC among the greatest to every wear a Cavaliers uniform. He scored 1,161 points in his two seasons, third most in team history. He ranks second all-time  with 171 career 3-point baskets and set the career record- free throw percentage of .857. He also ranks sixth in career 3-point field goal accuracy and seventh in career assists with 285.  This past season, Lupardus led the conference averaging 19.7 points per game. He scored in double figures in 29 of 30 games, including 17 with 20 or more and four with 30-plus points, including a career high 39 in a win over Ottawa JV on Jan., 20. In that game, he tied a school record hitting nine 3-pointers. He later was selected the National Player of the Week by the NJCAA. He earned KJCCC Player of the Week honors six times, the most of any player. On the season, Lupardus drained 96 long-range jumpers, second-best season total at JCCC. His 96 3-pointers also ranked 13th in the NJCAA and third in the conference. He led the conference in 3-point field goal accuracy at .451, and was third in free throw accuracy at .879. Those two percentages rank third and second respectively on JCCC’s season charts. As a freshman, Lupardus was a first-team All-Region VI and Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference second-team pick. He was also the team’s and conference’s leading scorer with 559 points. At the NJCAA Tournament, he averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals to lead the Cavaliers to an eight place finish. For his play in the tournament, Lupardus was given the Jack Custriano Best Small Man Award.

Nick Larkin
2019 2nd-Team
Guard • 6-0 • Lee's Summit, Mo.

In 2018-19, Nick Larkin became the 16th different player to to be named NJCAA All-American, and the 18th overall All-American in team history. Larkin was named second-team All-American, along with first-team All-Region VI and All-KJCCC D-II, NJCAA All-Tournament and was given the Jack Custriano Best Small Man Award at the national tournament. Larkin averaged 13.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 2018-19 while leading JCCC to conference and region titles, a national runner-up finish and a school record 31 wins. He scored in double figures 26 times. He produced five double-doubles and became the first play in team history to produce two triple-doubles. During the season, Larkin was chosen the D-II KJCCC Player of the Week three times. In his two seasons, Larkin helped the Cavaliers win a conference championship team, two region championships, and place eighth and second at the NJCAA D-II Tournament. He scored 789 career points along with 375 rebounds, 376 assists and 117 steals.

JaQuaylon Mays
2020 2nd-Team

JaQuaylon Mays became the 19th overall NJCAA All-American earning second-team honors following the 2019-20 season.  Earlier in the year he was also selected as first-team All-Jayhawk D-II Conference and first-team All-Region VI, and became just the fourth player in team history to be named league MVP. Mays led the team in points with 506, scoring average 16.9 points per game, assists with 138 and steals with 67. He is shot 53 percent from the field and scored in double figures in 27 of the team's 30 games. He also averaged 6.6 rebounds per game.   Mays was selected the conference player of week six times during the season, the most of any player. For his career, Mays scored 769 points for an average of 12.2 per game. He also tallied 302 rebounds (4.8) 198 assists (3.1), 112 steals (1.8) and shot 40.1 percent from 3-point range which ranks 14th all-time at JCCC. Mays helped the program to a two-year mark of 56-12 (.824), a conference and region championship, a conference and region runner-up finish and a second-place finish at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament. Mays went on to play at Missouri Western State University and Fort Lewis College. In the summer of 2023, Mays played professionally for the Cafeteros Basketball Club in Columbia. He averaged 12.7 points over the 25-game season.

Jalen Whitehead

Jaland Whitehead was selected to the NJCAA Men’s Division II Basketball All-America third-team for the 2020-21 season after helping lead the Cavaliers to a 16-6 record, conference and region titles and a berth in the NJCAA D-II National Tournament . He was a third-team selection and becomes the 20th NJCAA All-American in team history, and the first for head coach Rand Chappell.  Earlier in year he was also selected as first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference and first-team All-Region VI/Plains District, and became just the second player in team history to be named league’s top defensive player. In 2020-21, Whitehead became just the 10th player all-time and first since 2001-02 to average a double-double in points (14.0) and rebounds (11.4).  He scored in double figures in 15 games, had 16 games with 10+ rebounds and had 13 double-doubles.  His 16 games with double digit rebounds tied the fourth-best season in team history, and hit 13 double-doubles tie for fifth in a season at JCCC. Whitehead led D-II Kansas Jayhawk Conference in total rebounds (250) and in rebound average, and those total ranked third and sixth respectively in the NJCAA.  He also ranked second in the conference and 11th nationally with 35 blocked shots. He shot 55.3 percent from the floor which was fourth-best in the KJCCC. At nationals, Whitehead averaged 15.0 points and 9.0 rebounds in their two games. In the consolation loss to Southeast, Whitehead led JCCC with 23 points. That total tie the fifth-best game by a JCCC player in national tournament play.

Tymer Jackson

Tymer Jackson was selected to the NJCAA Men’s Division II Basketball All-America team for the 2021-22 season after helping the Cavaliers to a 28-4 record and No. 4 national ranking.  He was a third-team selection and became the 21st NJCAA All-American in team history, the second for head coach Rand Chappell. Earlier in the year he was also selected as first-team All-Region VI/Plains District, first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference and as named the Newcomer of the Year in the conference.  The 6-2 guard out of Olathe North finished second in the conference in scoring with an average of 18.3 points per game. He was also second in made free throws with 91, fifth in free throw percentage at 77.9 and sixth in 3-point baskets with 56. Jackson scored in double figures 25 times, and topped 10+ rebounds 12 times. He was the top scorer for JCCC in a team-leading 18 games. He also was a game leader in assists 13 times and in steals 16 times.  Jackson also averaged 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.1 steals and led JCCC with 56 made 3-point baskets. During the season Jackson was selected the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week four times. Jackson really shined in JCCC’s postseason run. He averaged 21.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in the three games of the Region 6/Plains District Tournament.  He produced 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 95-85 win over Hesston in the first round  and followed with a double-double of 18 points and 10 boards in a 44-42 win over Kansas City Kansas in the semifinal round. Jackson registered 20 points, eight rebounds and four steals in a 74-72 loss to Allen in the championship game.

In 2022-23, his sophomore season, Jackson  was named first-team All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), becoming just the fourth player in program history to be named to the first-team. A third-team selection last year, Jackson also became just the third two-time All-American in team history, joining Jimmy Hubbard (1999,2000) and Nafis Ricks (2008, 2009). Jackson was also named first-team All-Region VI/Plains District, first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) D-II and the most valuable player, the fifth in team history. During the season, he was named the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week three times, earning in weeks four, eight and 10. 

Jackson led the conference in total points with 657 points and in scoring average at 19.9 per game while leading the Cavaliers to a 29-8 record, conference and district championships and a seventh place finish at the 2023 NJCAA D-II National Tournament. His 657 points are the sixth-most scored in a season in team history. He scored in double figures in 31 games, which ties for fifth on JCCC’s season chart, and he had 20 games of 20+ points, including two 30-point games.  Jackson was the team’s leading scorer in 23 games, which ties on the season chart. He also led the team and ranked tied for fifth in the conference with 69 3-point baskets and led the conference in 3-point field goal accuracy at 42.9 percent. At the free throw line, Jackson led the conference with 130 made free throws and ranked fourth in free throw accuracy at 78.8 percent. Jackson was named to the NJCAA D-II National All-Tournament team after finishing the tournament with 76 points for an average of 19.0 per game.  His 76 points scored are the second-most ever recorded by a Cavalier in national tournament play, and his 19.0 average is the fourth-best recorded. He also made 12 3-point baskets over the four-game championship, tying the second-most in team history. Jackson tied a team national tournament record pouring in 30 points to lead the Cavaliers to a 79-63 victory over Arkansas State Mid-South in the seventh place game of the consolation bracket.

For his career, Jackson averaged 19.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 seals. He became just the 14th player in team history to surpass 1,000 career points, closing out with 1,190 ranking him third all-time. He also ranks fifth in career made field goals (419), tied for eighth in made 3-point field goals (125), eighth in made free throws (227), 11th in free throw accuracy (78.0%), 14th in 3-point accuracy (40.3%), sixth in career scoring average, tied for fourth in games with 10+ points (57) and is the all-time leader in games led in scoring (39).

Massi Malterer

Massi Malterer was was named third-team All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), in 2023-24 becoming the 23rd all-time in program history and the 20th at the Division II level. 

Malterer was also named All-Region 6/Plains District first-team and All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) D-II first-team last month. Malterer helped lead the Cavaliers to a 28-7 record, a district championship, and a berth to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. Malterer led the team in scoring averaging 16.5 points per game, which ranked fourth overall in the conference. He also tied for the team lead with 25 games scoring in double figures. Malterer topped 20+ points nine times, highlighted by a 30 effort in a win over North Arkansas and a career high 37-point night in a win over Allen. He also connected on 52.1 percent of his field goals attempts, sixth-best in the conference. Malterer upped his scoring average in conference play to 18.1 per game and shot over 53 percent from the field. Three times during the season Malterer was selected the KJCCC D-II Player of the Week, earning the award in weeks 8, 14 and 16.

NJCAA D-II Preseason All-Americans (8)

Jimmy Hubbard • 2000-01 • Forward

Jimmy Hubbard became the first player to earn NJCAA Preseason All-American prior to the 2000-01 season.  Hubbard had earned All-America accolades his freshman year.  As a sophomore he would live up to his preseason honor, earning second-=team honors, becoming the first and only two-time All-American in JCCC history.  He went on to play at the University of Cincinnati for coach Bob Huggins.

Chris Lollar • 2001-02 • Guard

The 2000-01 NJCAA D-II Player of the Year, Chris Lollar was named as a preseason All-American as a sophomore.  Lollar had a stellar freshman season capped by leading JCCC to the national title.  At the end of his two seasons, Lollar had set school game, season and career records for assists, and the career record for steals.  

Brandon Siims • 2001-02 • Guard

Brandon Sims joined teammate Chris Lollar as a preseason All-American prior to the 2001-02 season.  As a freshman, Sims earned NJCAA D-II National Tournament MVP honors while leading JCCC to a national championship. Unfortunately, Sims suffered a season=ending injury prior to the start of his sophomore season.  He redshirted, then transferred to the University of Creighton to play under coach Dana Altman.

B.J. Williams • 2002-02 • Forward

B.J. Williams became the fourth player and second forward to earn preseason All-American.  An All-Region VI pick as a freshman and sophomore, Williams averaged 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game as a freshman, and 13.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.  He scored 812 points and pulled down 455 rebounds in his career at JCCC.

Kyle Spears • 2003-04 • Forward

Kyle Spears became the first big man from JCCC to earn preseason All-American.  As a freshman, Spears ranked among the nation’s leaders in rebounds, hauling down 287, an average of 9.3 per game. He also shattered the school’s blocked shot record, swatting away 76, breaking the old mark by 23.  Spears went on to close out his career ranked sixth in career rebounds with 577.  He also became the first player to block over 100 shots in a career, finishing with 151.  He went on to play at UMKC.

Aaron Linn • 2006-07 • Guard

Aaron Linn was selected as second-team preseason All-American by the NJCAA prior to the start of the 2006-07 season.  He is the sixth player from JCCC to earn this honor, and third guard.  As a freshman, Linn averaged 15. 0 points per game, and earned All-East Jayhawk Conference and All-Region VI honors.  He finished second in the voting for East Jayhawk Conference freshman of the year.   His sophomore year, Linn did earn All-American, and ended his career as the program’s third all-time leading scorer with 1,113 points.

Nafis Ricks • 2008-09 • Guard

Nafis Ricks is the seventh player in JCCC history to earn NJCAA Preseason All-American.  As a freshman, Ricks led JCCC in scoring and rebounding. He was a first-team NJCAA All-American and a NABC State Farm All-American.  He also became the first player in JCCC history to be named the East Jayhawk Conference Freshman of the Year.  Additionally, Ricks was twice honored as the NJCAA D-II Player of the Week.

Kyle Speed • 2009-10 • Guard

Kyle Speed was selected to first-team NJCAA preseason All-American prior to the 2009-10 campaign.  He is the eighth player in team history to earn this honor.  His freshman year in 2007-08, Speed averages 12.9 points and 4.5 assists per game on his way to earning All-Region VI first-team and All-East Jayhawk Conference honorable mention honors.
