Gordon’s hat trick leads JCCC to 7-2 win over Dodge City

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The Johnson County women's soccer team evened its season recorded to 4-4 after handing Dodge City (1-5) a 7-2 loss on Saturday afternoon at the JCCC Soccer Complex. 

Freshman midfielder Darrian Gordon netted the team's first hat trick of the season, scoring JCCC's first, third and sixth goals of the match. Her third goals proved to bet the game winner. Gordon leads the team with five goals on the season. 

Freshman forward Brock Allen recorded her first multiple-goal math, scoring the fifth and seventh goals. Sophomores Tio Krizogono and Gail Logan accounted for the other scores. Logan also assisted on Gordon's game winner. 

Freshman forward Riley Porter, sophomore midfielder Morgan LaPlante and freshman midfielder Lydia Bogeart each tallied two assists in the victory. 

Freshman Goalkeeper Reyna Espino notched her first win as a collegiate player, saving five of the seven shots she faced. 

Johnson County face the Coffeyville Red Ravens (4-3) on the road Wednesday, April 28, then return home to host Garden City (1-7) on Saturday, May 1 at noon.
