Brayden Luikart comes to JCCC after spending the 2022 season with the Oklahoma Sooners baseball program … Solid  two-way player so JCCC coaches expect big things on the mound and at the plate … Will hit in the middle of the order and play a lot of outfield his season.

Freshman Year 2023

Was a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and Region 6 Gold Glove recipient in the outfield, becoming the first JCCC outfielder to receive this honor … Played in and started 60 games … Batted .321 (69-for-215) with 18 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 65 runs scored and 37 RBI … Led the team and tied for ninth in the conference in doubles … Also drew a team high 39 walks, which ties for ninth in the conference … Also was hit by a pitch nine times, second most on the team … Produced 18 multiple-hit and seven multiple RBI games … Was perfect in the field, making 93 putouts with one assist … Had an early season five-game hitting streak in which he hit a double in four straight games … Started the streak with an RBI double in a 6-4 setback at nationally ranked Crowder in the first game (2-9-23) … Followed with a single and double in a 4-1 loss to the Roughriders … Collected two hits with a double, an RBI and two runs in a 3-0 win over Crowder two days later (2-11-23) … Capped the series with a single, double and two run scored in a 9-8 win … That performance earned him the KJCCC East Player of the Week for week two … Opened a series with Southwestern with a solo home run, a walk and two runs in a 14-4 win (3-18-23) … Batted .444 (8-for-18) over the five-game streak … Started another five-game streak with a triple and a run scored in a 5-3 win over Southwestern (3-19-23) .. Followed with an RBI single, a walk and two runs scored in an 8-4 win over the Trojans in second game … Singles, tripled, walked and scored twice in a 5-4 win over North Iowa Area in the series opener (2-25-23) … Picked up his first multi-RBI game with three driven in off two singles in a 16-4 win over the NIACC in the second game … Doubles, walked twice and scored twice in a 12-2 win over NIACC (2-26-23) … Batted .500 (7-for-14) over the streak with double, two triples, nine runs and four RBI .. Had two singles, a walk, an RBI and wo runs scored in a 14-4 win at Cloud County (3-3-23) … Ripped a two-run double in a 7-1 win over Cloud County a day later (3-4-23) … Collected three singles to drive in two runs in a 7-5 setback to the Thunderbirds in the second game (3-4-23) … Went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBI in a 10-8 win at Fort Scott (3-10-23)… Followed with another three hits including a solo home run and two runs scored in a 11-10 win over Greyhounds in second game (3-10-23) … Singled twice, walked, drove in a run and scored twice in a 13-3 win over Coffeyville (3-19-23) … Went 2-for-3 and scored two runs in a 6-4 victory at Kansas City Kansas (3-25-23) … Started a nine-game hitting streak with two singles and an RBI in a 13-0 win over Highland (4-6-23) … Had an RBI double, walked twice and scored three runs in a 17-5 win at Highland (4-8-23) … Singles and walked twice and scored three times in an 11-9 win at Neosho County (4-13-23) … Drove in JCCC’s only run with a double in a 2-1 setback to the Panthers in the second game (4-13-23) … Doubled and scored in an 11-10 win over Cowley at the end of the streak (4-120-23) … Batted .394 (13-for-33) over the nine games collected three doubles, 11 runs, eight walks and six RBI … Followed with a season-long 12-game hitting streak which he batted .375 (18-for-48) with seven doubles, a triple, two home runs, six walks, 12 runs and 10 RBI … Opened the streak with three hits including two doubles and two RBI in a 9-0 win at Cowley (4-22-23) … Belted a two-run homer, walked three times and scored two runs in a 7-4 win at Baker JV (4-26-93) … Went 3-for-5 with a triple, home run, two runs scored four RBI in a 25-7 win at Labette (5-3-23) … Singled, walked and scored twice in a 6-1 win over Labette (3-5-23) … Reached base in every game during the Region 6/Plains District Tournament and got a hit ins six of the seven games … Singled and scored in a 6-1 win over Colby (5-11-23) … Reached with a single and scored a run in a 7-3 win over Seward County (5-17-23) … Had two hits, a walk, a run scored and an RBI in a 12-10 win over Butler (5-18-23) … Walked twice and scored two runs in an 11-2 win over Cowley in the championship game (5-21-23) ... Produced a single in all three JUCO World Series games, tying for eighth in most hits in World Series play by a Cavalier … Scored twice in JCCC’s 16-4 win over Salt Lake in the first round of the consolation bracket (5-28-23).

Played for coach Matt Jansen at Lafayette High School, St. Joseph, Mo. … Graduated 2021 … Rated as the No. 25 overall prospect in Missouri and No. 3 outfielder, and a top-500 recruit nationally by Perfect Game … Rated as the No. 15 overall recruit and No. 4 outfielder in Missouri by Prep Baseball Report … Named the 2021 Missouri Player of the Year by both Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report … Named the St. Joseph All-News-Press NOW Baseball Player of the Year … Batted .589 at the plate with 34 RBI and led the team in hits with 40 and doubles with 14 … On the hill he went 4-0 with a 0.83 ERA with 95 strikeouts in 48.1 innings on the mound in 2021 … Pitched a 13-strikeout no-hitter in April his senior year … Helped lead Lafayette to the Class 4 State Final Four, placing third, he highest finish in program history  … As a sophomore, he hit .491 with four home runs and a .506 on-base percentage, and posted a 2.50 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 36 innings as a sophomore in 2019 … Also went 13 for 14 in stolen base attempts … Named to the all-District 16-4A team … Did not have a junior season in 2020 due to COVID-19 … As a freshman he went 5-3 with a 2.10 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 45 innings on the mound, and hit .458 with two homers and a .543 OBP at the plate … Earned all-state honorable mention … Also lettered three years in basketball, earning all-Midland Empire Conference honors … Lampion Honor Society … Top 10 percent of his graduating class.
