OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Sophomore Macaleb Hughes and freshman Kylan Thomas combined for 18-of-19 shots to help power the No. 1-ranked Johnson County Community College men's basketball team to a 92-53 victory over Ottawa University JV at the Scottie Classic in Highland, Kan., Friday evening. 

Thomas hit 8-of-9 shots and two free throws for a game and season high 18 points. Hughes was also 8-of-9 shooting and finished with a career high 16 points. He also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. 

Sophomore JaQuaylon Mays and freshman Skyler Rhoads also finished in double figures with 11 and 10 points respectively. 

Other key efforts were turned by sophomore Lucas Milner (9 points, 6 rebounds) and freshman Braijion Barnes (4 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds). 

Johnson County shot 57 percent from the field and 74 percent at the free throw line.

Trevor Ballou was the only Braves' player to finish in double figures with 14 points.
