OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County Community College freshman forward Ramon Bravo scored two first half goals which proved enough for the Cavaliers to pull out 2-1 victory over cross-town rival Kansas City Kansas yesterday evening. 

Bravo put Johnson County up 1-nil with his fifth goal of the season in the 21st minute off a feed from freshman Kyle Reese, his first assist of the season. Six minutes later he tallied is sixth goal and second of the game to put JCCC up 2-0. Sophomore midfielder Brad Tulley provided the assist, his second this year. 

Kansas City Kansas managed to cut the deficit to a single goal when Jorge Nonferrer hit the back of the net in the 78th minute, but JCCC sophomore goalkeeper Pedro Ivankoski and the Cavaliers defense put the clamps on the Blue Devils offense the final 12 minutes to secure the win and improve the team to 4-2-1 on the season. 

The Cavaliers will be in action at home twice this weekend, hosting Coffeyville Community College on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 4:30 p.m., and Southwestern Illinois College on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m.
