Kerrigan Dixon was the Lady Cavaliers and No. 1 starter in the circle in 2018 and 2019 ... Had a lot of untapped talent when she arrived on campus, but became a better player over the course of her freshman season ... SOPHOMORE YEAR

Selected NJCAA second-team All-American,  first-team All-Region VI/District D and first-team All-Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference honors ... Also selected the team’s Most Valuable Player for 2019 … Made 24 appearances in the circle, 19 as a starter with 12 complete games and two shutouts … Had a record of 15-5 with 109 strikeouts in 133 innings with a 1.79 ERA, which ranked second in the conference and 11th in the NJCAA … Also ranked tied for seventh in the conference in wins, ninth in innings pitched  and ninth in strikeouts … Began the season with a complete-game 4-1 victory over Ranger, allowing just one run off four hits with six strikeouts (2-15-19) … Pitched a two-hit shutout with four strikeouts in an 8-0 win at Allen (3-15-19) … Struck out a career-high 12 batters in a 6-3 win over No. 5-ranked Des Moines Area (3-20-19) … Was two-time KJCCC D-II Pitcher of the Week, winning in weeks four and seven … Logged 12.2 innings and struck out batters playing in the Crowder Bash in Joplin, Mo. (3-8-19) … Hurled a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 7-0 win over Neosho County (3-31-19) … Her nine strikeouts tie the second-best game of her career … Allowed just one run and struck out nine batters in a 3-1 win over Cloud County (4-6-19) … Picked up two complete-game victories at the Region VI/District D Tournament, including the title-clinching 4-2 win over Kansas City Kansas (5-12-19) … Batted .353 (30-for-85), third-best on the team, with six doubles, two triples, a home run, 17 runs and 15 RBIs … Has eight multiple-hit and three multiple-RBI games … Belted a solo home run in a 13-6 win over Three Rivers (3-8-19) … Had a single, two doubles, a walk, scored three times and matched her career high with five run driven in a 17-0 blowout over Coffeyville (3-19-19) … Had two RBI doubles to help JCCC to 11-4 win over Iowa Western (4-17-19).

FRESHMAN YEAR

Selected honorable mention All-Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference and first-team All-District D ... Played in 42 games, 41 as a starter at both first base and pitcher ... Batted .391 (50-for-128) with 24 runs, 10 doubles, a triple, three home runs and a team-best 39 RBI ... Also led the team in hits, ranked second in batting average, tied for second in home runs, and third in doubles ... Had an eight-game hitting streak through the first game of the national tournament ... Batted .414 over the streak (12-for-29) with eight runs scored and five RBI ... Had 14 multiple-hit games and 11 multiple-RBI games ... Her first multi-hit and RBI game came in a 17-2 win at MCC-Maple Woods (3-1-18) ... Had three hits, including two doubles, to drove in five runs ... Had three hits, with a double, scored twice and drove in two in an 11-1 win at Kansas City Kansas (3-8-18) ... Belted her first home run, a solo shot, in a 3-2 loss to Three Rivers (3-9-18) ... Drove in two runs in a 3-2 win over Hutchinson (3-23-18) ... Picked up her third 3-hit game in an 8-5 win over Highland (3-28-18) ... Followed with two more hits and two RBI in the second game, an 8-3 loss ... Ripped two doubles, a single, a triples, scored twice and matched her season high with five RBI in a 14-10 loss to nationally ranked Cowley (4-12-12) ... Had two singles and drove in three runs in a 7-4 win over Murray State at the District B Tournament in Topeka (5-5-18) ... Had a RBI single and a two-run home run to power JCCC to an 11-3 win over No. 9 Lincoln Land at the NJCAA D-II National Tournament … Overall hit .333 (5-for-15) at nationals with a home run and four driven in … In the circle, had a record of 15-8 with 59 strikeouts in 135.0 innings and a 3.42 ERA ... Made 27 appearances, 23 as a starter, with 15 complete games and three shutouts ... Picked up her first win, a 7-2 complete-game victory over MCC-Maple Woods that included five strikeouts (3-1-18) ...  Allowed just one run off four hits and five strikeouts in a complete-game win at Kansas City Kansas (3-8-18) ... Hurled a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over Allen (3-13-18) ... Followed with a no-hitter in a 9-0 win at Cloud County (3-16-18) ... Those two performances earned the week 6 KJCCC D-II Softball Pitcher of the Week honor ... Selected the KJCCC Pitcher of the Week the following week after picking up two more complete-game victories, a 3-2 win over Hutchinson (3-23-18), and a 5-1 win over Hesston that included a season-high six strikeouts (3-24-18) ... Scattered four hits and struck out five in a 10-0 shutout over Coffeyville (4-17-18).

HIGH SCHOOL 

Was a four-year starter for coaches Terri Larson and Mike Tinich at Maize South High School, Maize, Kan. … Graduated 2017 … Selected as a first-team All-Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II all four years … Helped the Mavericks to a Kansas 4A State runner-up finish her freshman year … Was also a three-year starter and four-time letter winner in basketball … Earned All-AVCT D-II honorable mention her senior year while breaking the season school record for blocked shots … Played club softball for the Kansas Renegades.
