OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County sophomore guard Krystal Rice has been selected the Kansas Jayhawk D-II Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for week 15. This is her second weekly award this season. She joins Highland's Erin Randle and Tiana Gipson as the only multiple winners in Division II this season. 

Rice led the No. 7-ranked Lady Cavaliers to a pair of victories last week. She averaged 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in JCCC's two wins. She began the week scoring a career high 29 points in a 94-63 win over Hesston. Rice was 8-of-14 from 3-point range in the game which tied the third-best single game effort in team history. She capped the wee with 15 points and five boards in a 73-59 win over No. 15 Kansas City Kansas. 

For the season, Rice leads the team and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. She also ranks second in the conference with 77 made 3-point baskets, second in free throw accuracy (78.4) and fifth in 3-point accuracy (37.2). She needs to make just two more 3-pointers to move into the top 15 for a season in team history. Seven more will move her into the top 10.
