No. 2 JCCC downs No. 12 NCMC 56-41, sweeps season series

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 2-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team traveled to Trenton, Missouri Thursday night to take on No. 12 North Central Missouri and came away with an impressive 56-41 victory and remain undefeated at 15-0. The Pirates fall to 13-4 with two of their losses at the hands of the Lady Cavaliers.

Freshman guard Taliyah Scott registered her best game as a collegiate player, posting a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds.  Her 24 points are the most in game by a Lady Cavalier this season. Scott was 10-of-19 from the field with three 3-pointers and one free throw.

Sophomore guard Jazzy Klinge was the only other JCCC player to finish in double figures scoring. She tallied 11 points and grabbed five rebounds. 

Freshman guard Maizen Williams proved eight points off the bench, and freshman forward Karlee Ellick recorded a season high with nine boards to go along with four points. 

Baily Fleming led North Central Missouri in scoring with 10 points.

Johnson County travels to Beatrice, Nebraska to take on Southeast Community College (4-10) on Sunday afternoon, then returns home to host Highland in the conference opener on Saturday, January 13 at 1 p.m. JCCC defeated the Bobcats 80-60 on November 14.  The Lady Cavaliers lead the all-time series 27-1.
