JCCC downs Hesston by 29 to improve to 18-0 on the season

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – The No. 1-ranked Johnson County women's basketball team chalked up their 17th double digit victory while improving to 18-0 on the season with a 69-40 win over Hesston Saturday afternoon at JCCC Gymnasium. 

Guards Kierra Prim and Jaylen Townsend combined for 29 points and 10 rebounds to power the Lady Cavaliers. Prim was 6-of-10 shooting and made all three of her free throw attempts to finish with 15 points.  Townsend was 5-of-6 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers and 2-of-2 at the line. 

Guard Gabby Fuller nearly posted a double-double, finishing with nine points and 14 rebounds. 

Johnson County also got solid efforts from Shonyah Hawkins (8 points, 4 rebounds), Nariyah Simmons (7 points) and Jayde Williams (6 points, 3 rebounds). 

Johnson County will look to improve to 19-0 at Highland on Wednesday night, January 26 at 5:30 p.m.  The JCCC Lady Cavaliers  basketball game can be heard on 1660AM KWOD and on the Audacy App at 1660 the Bet.
