Prim earns first KJCCC D-II Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor for 2021-22

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Johnson County guard Kierra Prim made the most of her first week in the starting lineup for the No. 2-ranked Lady Cavaliers women's basketball as she earned the first Kansas Jayhawk Conference Division II Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the 2021-22 season. 

The freshman from Overland Park, Kan., averaged 19.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and shot a staggering 69 percent from the field to help lead JCCC to three victories in the opening week of the season.

The highlight of her weeks came in an 86-40 win over Saint Mary JV on November 6. Prim poured in a career high 28 points on 13-of-16 shooting. She also grabbed 11 rebounds to post her second career double-double. 

Last year Prim averaged 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and shot 57.4 percent from the floor.
